LARNIE LU PAINTER, age 75, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA.

She was born on August 16, 1937 in Clintwood, VA to the late Earl and Emma (Vanover) Stanley. Larnie was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, who was loved and admired by many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Ray "Buddy" Painter, as well as brothers, Earl Stanley, Jr. and Monte Minton, and sisters, Nina Minton Fleming, Arlena Minton Puffer, and Rosemary Minton. Survivors include three children: Tammy Famoso and husband Douglas of Fredericksburg, VA; Becky Kirby and husband Bobby of Manassas, VA; and Fred Painter and wife Patty of Williamsburg, VA; four sisters: Jackie Hamilton of Clintwood, VA; Betty Geesey and Keith Leung of San Diego, CA; Linda Sanders and Evelyn Thomas of Carlsbad, CA; and Janie Wortham and Gil Jones of Culpeper, VA; one brother: Bob Stanley and wife Lois of Clifton, VA; seven grandchildren: Gary, Kevin, Kristie, Melissa, Alecia, Eugene, and Cara; and three great grandchildren: Skyler, Caleb, and Cayleigh. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her favorite four-legged companions, Toby and Sandy.
